Your network should also be configured to give calls priority. QoS settings, properly sized routers and firewalls, current firmware, and managed network segmentation can make a meaningful difference. This is not a one-size-fits-all checklist. A five-person office with a few phones has different needs than a multi-location company with call groups, recordings, remote staff, and high inbound call volume.

When the issue is persistent, collect useful details before making changes. Note the date and time of affected calls, the extensions involved, whether the problem was inbound or outbound, and whether it affected one location or everyone.
